Susan Scharpf: Current trends in supporting gifted social-emotional needs

 When:   Tuesday 15 October 2019 7.30pm
Where:   Alexander McMillan Room, Community House, Moray Place, Dunedin
Supper provided.

Synopsis
Want to know more about how to support the social and emotional needs of your gifted child?

Early in Term 4, OAGC is hosting a presentation by Susan Scharpf who will talk about the current thinking and trends in supporting the social and emotional needs of gifted children. Susan recently attended the SENG conference in Houston, Texas, and she will share with us ideas that were presented and discussed at this international event.
SENG (supporting emotional needs of the gifted) is a nonprofit network of people who guide gifted, talented and twice-exceptional individuals to reach their goals intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually (https://www.sengifted.org/).
We all know how important is it (and how challenging it can be) for our children to navigate social interactions and to cope with the ups and downs of big emotions. Come along and hear about the latest trends that were presented at the SENG conference and chat with other families/educators who experience similar challenges.
